Vellum LA is thrilled to present Color :: Field, a physical exhibition and online NFT auction in partnership with SuperRare!
Please join us on Thursday, December 9 from 7-9 pm for the private viewing reception of Color :: Field, our inaugural NFT exhibition at Vellum LA’s recently completed gallery space on Melrose Ave.
RSVP & proof of vaccination or negative covid test will be required for entry. An invite-only VIP preview will be held an hour prior from 6-7 PM for collectors, press, and other industry personnel.
Color :: Field features the work of 8 influential new media and digital artists whose works draw a thread between contemporary digital art and the iconic Color Field movement of the 20th century. The artworks included in this exhibition reveal the parallels between this abstract painting and digital abstraction, and pose new arguments about the interplay of color, gesture, and form in reality suffused in the virtual.

The exhibition will include works by Andy Gilmore, IX Shells, LIA, Zach Lieberman, Nicolas Sassoon, Alida Sun, Anne Vieux, and Zouassi.
The private viewing reception on December 9 will also feature a one-day immersive pop-up installation of CONTINUUM by Krista Kim. CONTINUUM is a meditative generated animation by Krista Kim in collaboration with Efren Mur. With original music composed by Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder, CONTINUUM will be displayed on a 600 sq ft panoramic LED wall for one night only.

Artworks displayed at Color :: Field will be available to purchase online on SuperRare. Those interested in bidding on artwork at the exhibition, please make sure to secure ETH in advance and open an account on SuperRare. Vellum LA representatives will be present at the gallery to assist any guests who would like to participate in the auction.
Color :: Field will remain on view through January 16th, 2022 by appointment only.
