About
Vellum LA was a gallery for new media and digital art in Los Angeles, active from 2021 to 2023. It set out to situate the digital art community within the context of art history.
Physical exhibition was central to the program. Works were shown on Luma Canvas displays, in site-specific immersive installations, and on media facades and billboards across Los Angeles and beyond, with the aim of rethinking how digital art is experienced in the physical world.
Between 2021 and 2023, Vellum LA presented 23 exhibitions and projects, working with curators including Alice Scope, Jesse Damiani, Ellie Pritts, Katie Peyton Hofstadter, Hannah Stouffer, Mieke Marple, Chanel Verdult, and Barry Threw, and with partners including SuperRare, Feral File, Artsy, and StandardVision.
Vellum LA was founded and directed by Sinziana Velicescu.
