The SuperRare Space Race Kicks Off - Vote for Vellum LA!
We are excited to announce that Vellum LA has applied for a SuperRare Space and is participating in the first ever SuperRare Space Race!
Spaces are independently run online storefronts on SuperRare that can curate, promote and sell artworks by artists of their own choosing. Each Space can launch their own smart contract on the platform and invite artists onto the marketplace to mint NFTs with them.
Spaces are one of the major developments from SuperRare in the last few months as part of their transition to a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization), where curation and decision-making power is shifted from one central organization to community members. Space Races, which are to be held every month, are designed to decentralize curation allowing artists, collectives, or any other individuals or organizations who curate and promote art to have the opportunity to create their own online galleries on the platform. Up to 10 Spaces can be approved during each Race by the SuperRare DAO, which is currently made up of $RARE token holders.

At Vellum LA, we believe in empowering artists through thoughtfully curated exhibitions that focus on diversity and emphasize community. A Space would give us the opportunity to onboard artists onto one of the most prestigious NFT marketplaces, giving them exposure to a new range of collectors who turn to SuperRare to find unique and exciting works for their collections. By curating monthly auctions on a Space alongside our physical exhibitions, we hope to build a strong online presence and forge long term relationships with collectors to provide a strong foundation for new creators we introduce to the world of NFTs. With plans to democratize the gallery space through ever-evolving exhibitions that invite collaborations with guest curators from partner institutions and artists to curate fellow artists, we hope to create a new standard for what galleries should represent while also opening new avenues to success for artists creating timeless and important work that deserves to be seen.

We will use our extensive knowledge of showcasing and displaying digital art as well as our access to state-of-the-art LumaCanvas screens to create unforgettable experiences that will simultaneously educate the public on this revolutionary time in art history and inspire a deep appreciation for digital art.
