Immutable was a four-week residency with the generative art platform GEN.ART, exploring generative art and the collaboration between artist, algorithm, and collector, and how digitally native processes navigate constraint and freedom.
Each week presented a different collection: GEN.ART (June 2-5), Cozomo de' Medici (June 9-12), 6529 (June 16-19), and GrailersDAO (June 23-26). Alongside the GEN.ART artists, the collector weeks included works by XCOPY, Tyler Hobbs, and others.
The residency was part of Vellum LA's effort to situate digital art within the context of art history, bringing prominent generative artists together with some of the earliest collectors to support them.
